New for Spring 2024

We are excited to announce that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation selected the Gardner Institute as the new home of the Institutional Transformation Assessment (ITA). Experts and practitioners in the higher education field developed the ITA perception survey tool, sensemaking facilitated conversation process, and additional support materials, including a technical assistance website.  Researchers, practitioners, ITA and sensemaking users from postsecondary education institutions and intermediaries, rubric authors, and funders revised the tools and sensemaking processes during the past few years, with funding provided by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Gardner Institute is excited to launch new services for the ITA in the Fall of 2024, with a revised survey instrument to be released in 2025. For more information about the ITA go to postsecondaryita.org. For questions on how to get started using the tool email info@gardnerinstitute.org. New for Fall 2022
  • Updated rubrics
    • Digital Learning and Developmental Education Reform rubrics have been updated with new indicators reflective of important advancements in these critical topic areas.
  • Individual dashboard
    • Individuals that complete the ITA will now receive access their personal responses to the ITA survey through a new individual dashboard. People planning to participate in their institution’s sensemaking conversation are encouraged to download a copy of their responses from this dashboard and bring them to the meeting to enable a robust, engaged discussion.
  • Practitioner team role
    • By popular demand, an additional team type has been added to survey administration to accompany the Transformation Team and Student Success Community team options. The Practitioner role is intended to allow institution teams to focus attention on role-specific responses to the ITA survey—either in the form of topic-specific deep dives for practitioner teams or broader survey facilitation with a subset of leaders on campus. More information is coming soon including how to request access to this new feature.
